In the 150th year of the Tata Group, Tata Motors unveiled its “Smart Mobility” and “Smart Cities” solutions at Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2018 in Delhi. The company showcased mobility solutions for intelligently connected cities designed to offer convenience, safety, security, and efficiency to customers.
The company has launched 26 smart city solutions where vehicles and the city will share and receive information through a smart network. It will have electric vehicles as a standard, with enormous amounts of data collected by a city’s corporation.
Guenter Butschek, MD and CEO, Tata Motors, said: “In line with our efforts to support the government’s vision, we have developed ‘Smart Mobility, Smart Cities’ solutions and will give our customers a preview of Tata Motors’ future mobility solutions.
Tata Motors is displaying an extended range of six EV products enabling personal and mass mobility; these will have connected and smart connections. They will interact with cities through WiFi and connect to city services.
Tata Motors also showcased an Electric Bus and a Smart Bus Stop along with two electric passenger carriers – the Magic EV and the Iris EV. It also showcased the Tiago EV, the Tigor EV, and the Racemo EV.
Agreement with Microsoft
Earlier, Tata Motors and Microsoft India announced a strategic agreement to redefine connected and personalised driving experiences for Indian customers. Tata Motors will also leverage Microsoft’s connected vehicle technologies that bring together artificial intelligence (AI), advanced machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities on the global hyper-scale Azure cloud, to traverse the digital and physical worlds and create a highly personalised, smart and safer driving experience across the digital life of a vehicle owner.
